MBA at Columbia University, he joined Goldman Sachs, where he rose to the head of the bank’s asset management
business. He departed in 1991 to found Omega. In 2011, Cooperman attracted attention for writing an open letter
criticizing President Barack Obama for inciting class conflict. The billionaire has signed the giving pledge, committing to
donating the majority of his wealth to charity. His Leon and Toby Cooperman Family Foundation currently has about $200
million in assets. In April 2014, Cooperman donated $25 million to St. Barnabas Hospital. In 2013, he committed $25 million
