How to marry a hedge funder? Find out how they landed a titan
1. Lisa Perry
49, wife of Richard Perry
The FIT graduate and vintage sixties-clothing collector recently started her own line of retro-inspired clothes. She’s also a huge Democratic donor who’s taken up Hillary-for-prez as her personal cause, hosting gatherings for the senator and featuring Chuck Close’s portraits of La Clinton in the hall of her Sutton Place home—done, of course, in retro-sixties style.
2. Anne Dias Griffin
36, wife of Kenneth Griffin
French-born Dias Griffin graduated summa cum laude from Harvard Business, and cut her teeth at Goldman Sachs in London before founding the $55 million Chicago-based Aragon Global Management, one of the largest hedge funds managed by a woman. She and her husband gave $19 million to the Art Institute of Chicago—the site of one of their first dates—for a modern-art wing designed by Renzo Piano.
3. Margaret Munzer Loeb
34, wife of Daniel Loeb
Munzer Loeb, a former yoga instructor and graduate of Brown and NYU’s School of Social Work, married then-man-about-town Loeb in July 2004. The couple collects contemporary art and are supports of Prep for Prep and Lincoln Center. Last year, they sold their Bank Street townhouse for $12 million and bought a $45 million full-floor penthouse on Central Park.
4. Danielle Ganek
43, wife of David Ganek
The former Woman’s Day style editor met her husband at Franklin & Marshall College, and the two have become prominent art collectors. Their $19 million pad at 740 Park Avenue showcases works by Richard Prince and Jeff Koons, and last year they helped pull in $4 million for the Guggenheim. In May, Viking publishes Danielle’s art-world send-up, Lulu Meets God and Doubts Him.
5. Gail Golden
57, wife of Carl Icahn
Golden, Icahn’s longtime assistant who married him after he divorced his first wife in 1999, is the founder of Gutsy Women Travel, which arranges luxury group trips for women traveling without their husbands. She told the New Yorker last year that she and Icahn take nightly baths together in a huge tub in their duplex penthouse off Fifth Avenue.
6. Amy Robbins
37, ex- wife of Larry Robbins
Robbins was a banker before becoming a partner in her husband’s fund. She has thrown herself into charity work with UNICEF, shelling out $1.3 million for a special, nutrient-rich peanut butter for Ethiopian kids. Last year, the couple underwrote UNICEF’s socialite-studded Snowflake Ball, which raised $2.6 million.
